protest against so touch of the resolu-

pending international questions with
Mexico. and state that we. have conli-
de'ice in the Intention and ability ol
our government and of the present
administration to protect American
citizens abroad; and while we heart-
ily concur in so much of said reso-
lutions as urges upon the government
the necessity of prompt and energetic
measures to vlutlicaie the right* ol cit-
izens of the United Statea in Mexico,
and deaire to call the earnest attention
of those In power to this moat impor-
tant matter, and while we pledge our-
telvea When necessary to hiartlly sup-
port our government In demanding
and enforcing even by arms the prop-
er respect for our citizene and our Hag.
We trust that all pending dilticultie*
may be amicably nettled without tarn
