Letter to the Editor Hellcat News
I was not able to attend the recent annual reunion in Hampton,
VA, due to a health problem in the family. Therefore I am taking
this opportunity to thank whomever recommended me for the
Distinguished Member award. I am indebted to them, to Ward
McGill and his committee, to the executive council and the mem-
bership for approving the recommendation. It is very much appre-
ciated.
It is a distinct honor to be placed among the group of those who
contributed so much to the success of this association, namely Bob
Head and Norb Bruemmer.
Bob, who served as president, executive secretary, and added
editor when that position was vacated, who, in my opinion, was
always "IN THE LOOP." Bob is a student of our Constitution and
By-Laws, lives by them and rightfully expects all of the members
to do the same.
It has often been stated that the Hellcat News is the glue that
keeps the association together. I believe that Norb Bruemmer is the
one that makes that glue. His service over the years in several
capacities, namely as executive secretary and treasurer, has kept us
on an even keel always moving us forward. His wise advice to the
executive council, although not always accepted, was always
respected.
Thank you again for classifying me with a Distinguished Mem-
ber, and listing me with these to great HELLCATS.
Cordially
Ted Blostein, HQ 23rd Tk Bn
Past President
P.S. I understand that nothing was done during any of the
Reunion proceedings to specifically say THANK YOU to Norb
Bruemmer upon his retirement as treasurer, and for his many years
of very active and constructive service to our association.
May I suggest to the new executive council that they place this
matter on their agenda for immediate action to correct this over-
sight.
