Notes
Abilene, Texas - VF (1891-1981) -- The Sandefer Memorial Building was one of Hardin-Simmons University's brick-and-mortar answers in meeting the onslaught of veterans returning to school after World War II. It was designed by architect David Castle and completed in 1949. It was named in honor of Dr. Jefferson Sandefer, president of H-SU from 1909-1940. Originally it contained the library and administrative offices for the University. Today with the opening of the new Rupert N. Richardson Library, the upper two floors were converted to office space for additional administrative and faculty offices.
