The TCAFS includes people from various state agencies, universities, and businesses. It promotes the conservation, development, and wise utilization of recreational and commercial fisheries. This edition of the newsletter provides details from the annual meeting held at the Moody Gardens in Galveston in January. Fran Gelwick was elected president-elect and Paula Hawkins to secretary/treasurer's position. Three new books were reviewed: Sustaining North American Salmon: Perspectives Across Regions and Disciplines (Kristine D. Lynch, Michael L. Jones, and William W. Taylor, editors), Population Genetics: Principles and Applications for Fisheries Scientists (Eric Hallerman, editor), and Nutrients in Salmonid Ecosystems: Sustaining Production and Biodiversity (John Stockner, editor).
