Notes

Additional historical context: Félix Díaz was the nephew of President José de la Cruz Porfirio Díaz Mori - aka President Porfirio Diaz. Félix Díaz Prieto, who was also a Mexican General, was one of the leading political figures who led the rebellion against then President Francisco I. Madero during the Mexican Revolution - in 1913. As the postcard caption reads, "Associated with Pres. Huerta at Mexico City" - Félix Díaz and Victoriano Huerta were both part of the military coup [February 9 - February 19, 1913] which successfully overthrow then President Francisco I. Madero. This was known as the Ten Tragic Days. The result of the union between Félix Díaz and Victoriano Huerta was the agreement called the Pact of the Embassy or (El Pacto de la Embajada). The agreement allowed Huerta to be installed as the provisional President of Mexico, in 1913, with the agreement that Díaz could run for the presidency during the following year.
