of a common lard bucket-that Is to say,
put aboat one teaspoonful of the powder
into the bucket lid and then fill Ihe lid with
water. Stir it up good and place it in the
barn where nothing but rats and mice can
got at it. In a few days you will notice
that there is not a rat on the lace.
Now as to what will cure colic in horses
I will say: Take your knife and clean out
the flrog of forefeet and then pour about
a teaspoonful of turpentine in each place
so cleaned out. It will cure' the colic ev-
ery time. A sure cure for bots is also as
follows: Take a tablespoonful of bluestone
and the same quantity of coal oil and pour
into a tea cup full of syrup. Then put a
teaspoonful of soda in the mixture and
stir well, after wllch place in a bottle and
drench the horse with it. It is a sure cure
for bots, and every farmer knows that
bots are pretty bad sometimes.--W. L.
