Notes

text: "Tuesday afternoon. My Sweetness -- I am glad you all had a pleasant week end and a pleasant cold spell -- 'cause ours has certainly been disagreeable at last though it has cleared up -- and the sun is shining. Gorsh, but I would like to have been there with you Sunday. Sweetheart, I don't know what kind of a driver this Jimmie is, but I wouldn't have you hurt for all the fun in the world. My, you must have spent a busy week end. Why I had to read your letter the second time and slowly to even keep up with you! and it wasn't a poorly written letter either -- as this one is about to be. So you saw Mel at the German, and had a big time. I'm glad you did. Speaking on poorly written letters, I am producing one, but Sweetheart, there are about six of us in here, and they're raising all kinds of a 'er-a-cain, so that I am about going to have to give up the ship. Sweetheart, I enjoyed your letter so much today, it made me want to be there, to be with you so bad. -- But, I'm looking forward and trying to hold myself in restraint -- two weeks more! Another day and no cigarette! I've been so sleepy all day I could barely get around, maybe that's one of the results off the sudden forbearance! Haven't cracked a book yet this term, but guess I"ll have to in a day or so, 'cause I had to tell Dr. Schaefer "I don't believe I know" this morning -- and a little of that goes a long way with her, and since I believe I stand in pretty good now -- well, I've got to keep up the work. I read an interesting article not long ago on that little phrase "Keep it up!" and its absolute essentiality(?) to success. I believe I told you about it -- and I still remember how I appreciated that "Keep it up, 'cause I love you" -- coming from you. I love you, sweetheart. I am still so anxious to hear what you have to say about the 22nd. Day by day -- I love you more deeply and truly. Kiss me -- oh how I do crave one of your kisses. Love me? Your owndest - Felix. P.S. I have just read this letter over and it certainly does sound cheap. Please excuse it this time -- and I'll promise to do better tomorrow."
