for the past eleven months.
% CHRISTMAS TIME
As Christmas draws nearer, one begins to think of the true mean-
ing of Chrsitmas and just what Christmas is. It is the observance
of the day of the birth of the Savior of the World, Jesus Christ,
Christmas should mean worship, and not giving and receiving gifts.
Gifts should be given because they were brought to the Christ Child,
but these gifts must be given in the right spirit for one to observe
Christmas in its true meaning. :
This year Christmas will mean more than just another day to
many of the nations of the world, because this is the first peace-
iime Christmas in five years. Countries of Europe and Asia will be
able to observe this holiday even though there will be little material
celebration. We in America are truly thankful that this Christmas
Day we will be able to have all the blessings of a free nation; and,
as we observe this day and its true meaning, let us not forget those
who will never again see a lighted tree or a peaceful church; who
Marvin Posey, who received his
honorable discharge from the U
S. Army, November 18 arrived
in Cleburne November 30. His fu-
ture plans are incomplete. Posey
graduated in ’42.
GM2/c Bentley Jones, Navy, re-
ceived his honorable discharge
December 6. His plans for the fu-
ture are still incomplete. Jones
graduated in ’42.
St/c Pat Ingle is home on a
30 day leave. He was on the U.
S. S. Nicholas. He reports to Sun
Pedro at the end of his leave.

2. Bryan Zimmerman and his
father have discover that the air-
plane is a great help in duck
hunting. At least it saves lot of
walking.
3. If you want to see some real
flying you should see Charles
Cooke fly. He spent twe years
overseas flying L.-5 for the Army.
He is now attending Baylor Col-
lege. studying to be a doctor like
his father, Doctor Cooke. .
4. “Hap” Hague has received
his discharge from the Air Corps
and is now attending Baylor Col-
lege.
5. John Hague, Alfred Jackson,
and Bobby Wilkanks seem to like
formation flying.
6. It seems that Perry Aycock
took Mr. Stalcup up for a ride
last Sunday morning and Mr.
Stalcup doesn’t approve of flying
level with house tops.
7. J. T. Rogers made his solo
flight to Waco last week-end. He
lacks two hours of having enough
hours for his private license.
8. Mr. Davenport’s and Mr)
Staleup’s little "green Dragon” or
"P-40," just would come out of
the hangars Sunday. Mr. Stalcup
said that they “needed a stronger
string to fly it, in that strong
wind."
9. If anyone would like a leath-
ed flight jacket, like John Hague’s
and Alfred Jackson’s see Mr.
Cooke.

The following is a letter of ap-
plication written to one of the
Sergeants in the Persian Gulf
command area by a native Persian
who wants a job bad enough to
learn the English language-
Dear Sir First Sergeant:
I was presented to thy excel-
lence for a job a few days ago;
by sir jack, and you made me
hope to grant me a job—But I
have not yet received any word. I
indeed am yet hopeful and faith-
ful that you’ll find a job because
when I take Counsel in my soul;
I see that' the American boys are
the original children of God. They
are like a heavenly tree fruited
with goodness; kindness; and
pleasant fruits. So I'm sure you
will help me unexpectedly.
Dear, T. Sergeant. Behold, I can
read; write; and speak English,
and I know more than 25000 of
this greate language. I am a per-
fect and upright man; and my
delight is in the love of the
lord’s putting by trust in the al
mighty. So my delight is that the
almighty would shine upon your
soul by his holy spirit and make
you grant for me a job; because
my soul is weary with my life.
I have not anything to sleep in,
but dirty dust. Nor have I any
garments to put on, but old bag .
The winter s hunger; coldness;
and the pickpockets have risen
up against me; they want to make
me go whence I shall not return,
even to the gates of death. So
get me a job O of great faith;
I pray you and fear not; nay;
according to this verse, BLESSED
ARE THE MERCIFUL: FOR THEY
SHALL OBTAIN MERCY.
