"Up Periscope" Submarine Operations in the Pacific 1941-1945 was a symposium hosted by the Admiral Nimitz State Historical Park, the Admiral Nimitz Foundation and the U.S. Naval Institute. The weekend of the symposium included banquets, ribbon-cutting, interviews, and the symposium itself. The symposium focuses on submarine operations and its impact. Speakers during the symposium include Paul Stillwell, Adm. Chester Nimitz Jr., Dr. Eric Holmes, Capt. Edward L. Beech, Dr. Carl Boyd, Capt. Akihiko Yoshida, Capt.
