Computer holds up honorary lists

Due to a shortage of computer time, some UT El Paso
student organizations, particularly honorary groups, are
having a hard time getting applications to prospective
members, according to Assistant Dean of Students Judy
Solis.
The groups depend on a list from the computer of all
students who meet the groups entrance requirements,
such as a 3.0 GPA or senior status. The request for such
a list comes from Solis’ office, she said.
This semester, the lists are late in coming out, Solis
said.

demographer and family planning
specialist currently is a visiting sociology
professor at San Diego State University.
Chandrasekhar was educated at the
Madras Presidency College, University of
Madras, the London School of
Economics, and Columbia and New York
Universities. He holds a doctorate in
demography from New York University.
The author was elected in 1964 to the
Upper House of the Indian Parliament
(the Rajya Sabha, comparable to the
United States Senate). In 1967 he was ap-
pointed minister of health and family
planning in Gandhi’s cabinet.
