Notes

The house opened to the public in 1986 as the Starr Family Home State Historic Site and is located at 407 W. Travis St., Marshall, Texas. The website for the Site gives the construction date as 1871.

Additional historical context: This photograph is one of a small series taken by photographer Julian Barnes for a project of Mrs. Johnnie McCutchan. The name of the house and an incorrect construction date is written on the back.
