Although a later inscription in ink on the back of the photograph identifies the baby as Marion Sims McCutchan, Jr. born 1/11/1905, it is more likely to be the first born son, Robert Lewis McCutchan, born 4/1/1903. The baby is wearing a long christening gown, and the father is wearing a suit, vest, and tie. Photograph of Marion Sims McCutchan, Sr. sitting in a wicker rocking chair holding his infant son. On the hearth is a framed fireplace screen consisting of a lithographic print of a seated young woman with an admirer next to her holding an oar in his right hand.
