Behind a picket fence stands St. Mary's Academy on the right, a two story wood building with two-story porches along both visible sides. The church building stands to the left of that, a Gothic revival building with a steeply-pitched gable roof and a bell tower and entrance porch projecting from the facade. The church is faced with vertical wood siding. On top of the bell tower is a tall steeple with a cross on top. A small one-story wood cottage with gable roof is visible to the left of the church. Several trees are growing beside the church and in front of the school. Two telephone poles are on the side of the road. Printed in red ink on the top of the image is the title, "Catholic Church and St. Mary's Academy, Marshall, Tex." Printed in red ink on the back of the card in the lower left corner is: "Made in Germany," the code K 13413, and within a circle with two wings on the sides are the initials SL & Co., which was the logo of the New York City postcard publisher Samuel Langdorf & Co. There is no postmark or message on the back of the card.
