1. Where did you graduate from college? I
graduated from Tarleton State University with a
Bachelors degree in Business Administration. I
received my Masters of Education degree from
Louisiana College.
2. Why did you decide to become a teacher? I
owned a flower shop before I became a teacher
and was asked to come to the school to demon-
strate floral design to a horticulture class.
Watching the students' eyes shine when they "got"
what I was talking about was very fulfilling. I then
had my daughter and wanted to be able to be
involved with her as much as possible; being a
teacher allows me to do so. Also, my mother
worked at the school where I attended, and I loved
having her there. I hope my daughter will feel the
same way.
3. Name two teachers you believe impacted
your life in a positive way? Mrs. Popp -1 had a
speech impediment when I was young, Mrs. Popp
was my speech teacher. She was a sweet, kind
teacher who helped me correct my problem. I saw
her 30 something years later, and she not only
remembered who I was, but told my daughter what
words I had problems pronouncing!
Mrs. Booth - She was the teacher that realized I
needed glasses when I wrote a whole page of e's
when she had written s's on the board for us to
copy. She then made sure no one made fun of me

with glasses.
4. What do you like to do for fun outside of
school? Read, shop, and attend my daughter's
sporting events.
5. What would your students be surprised to
know about you? I think my students would be
surprised to know that I get very nervous having to
speak in front of people.
6. What fashion trend did you once wear, that
today you believe would just be a complete
embarrassment? Most fashion trends come
back around, so some of the stuff I wore in high
school I could still get away with wearing, well
my students could get away with wearing it. The
thing that I think most of my students' would find
totally goofy though is we knotted our t-shirts in
the front towards the side, and today they knot
them in the back.
7. Name four material things you probably
couldn’t live without? Four material things that
I could not live without - microwave, Tivo, keyless
entry pad on my car, and comfortable shoes.
Microwave because I cannot cook and am always
in a hurry. Tivo because I never have time to watch
TV when my favorite shows are on and I cannot
stand commercials. My keyless entry pad because
I am always locking my keys in my car.
Comfortable shoes because if my feet hurt, I hurt
all over.
8. What t.v. shows did you grow up watching?
Leave it to Beaver, Mash, Charlie's Angels, Hart to
Hart, and Knot's Landing
9. What homemade dish is requested most by
your family on special occasions? Nothing of
mine, because I cannot cook. My husband and
daughter always ask for my mother-in-law's
chocolate cake.
10. Where is the furthest place you have trav-
eled? My husband and I, with my mother and
father, went on a cruise to the Bahamas.
