Rather than spending
time slaving away in an
un-paid legal internship
this summer, why not expand
your horizons, broaden your
mind, and have a little fun while
learning the law in an exotic
locale? Many students find
study abroad trips to be the per-
fect opportunity to add a little
international flair to their le-
gal insight. Most trips offer
courses in both American Law
and world-wide legal ques-
tions.
Before you pack your
bags, South Texas College of
Law students must pass a few
restrictions. First you must be
in good standing. New re-
quirements for the incoming
class of 2004 require students

to have GPA of at least 2.5.
Additionally, only students
who have completed more than
30 hours here at STCL will get
the opportunity. If you meet
those criteria then all that is left
before taking the trip of a life-
time is a passport and payment
plan.
Most students don't con-
sider studying abroad because
they think the cost would be
too prohibitive. Yet, most trips
are surprisingly affordable and
financial aide will certainly be
available. The financial aid of-
fice works directly with stu-
dents to form a workable bud-
get which is covered by govern-
ment loans and private loans.

parative law courses at Sidney Sussex College , founded in 1596, in Cambridge, England.
This contemporary location, in the center of the beautiful and historic city of Cambridge, is
an excellent location for a study-abroad program with 10 museums and galleries within
walking distance of Sidney Sussex College. About 55 miles north of London, Cambridge is
located in beautiful central England, a convenient location from which to travel and an ideal
location for summer study.

A program of legal studies in Cuernavaca, Mexico, with the beautiful Hotel Posada Jacaran-
das serving as the campus. Known as the City of Eternal Spring. Cuernavaca has been a
resort since the days of Cortes. All courses offered are ABA approved for transfer credit.
They will be taught by faculty from Loyola and other American law schools. Classroom
instruction will be enriched with a series of field trips to many points of cultural interest.
Trips to the pyramids of Teotichuacan , Mexico City, and the colonial city of Taxco are
included in the program. Some students take a weekend trip to Acapulco on their own.

TUITION:
$ 1,600 for four credits, $ 1,350 for three credits, $ 1,200 for two credits. $25 application fee.
$100 activities fee plus approximately $1,000 in living and meal costs.
COURSES:
The law school program will offer interaction with the Mexican legal community, including
optional tours of judicial, legal, and government offices and a mandatory conference with
the Justices of the Supreme Court of the State of Morelos. Our students are offered a
special designed abbreviated immersion course in Spanish. The Spanish courses include
optional housing with a Mexican family. Courses include Immigration Law, Western Legal
Tradition, and International Comparative Law.
This is an exciting opportunity to study law during the summer at the Irish Centre
for Human Rights, National University of Ireland in Galway. Taught by experts in
the field from Ireland and the United States, the six-week program focuses on
courses related to international and comparative human rights law and
accountability for human rights violations.
