Notes

Text: "Amarillo, Texas. May the 12th 1904. Mr. J. M. Cripe Mattoon, Ill. Dear Sir:- Your card of April the 25th in regard to my patent just to hand, it being delayed at Bellevue. I presume that you have reference to my Patent on Ironing Table of which you will please find enclosed a copy of Patent. I am not working this patent any yet, I have only made about one dozen and sold them at home merely as an introduction among home folks all of whom are delighted with its practicability and also its simplicity. Your proposition seems to be fare [sic] but we would rather sell it out right, and if you really mean business which I believe you do, I think it would be more satisfactory to all parties concerned if you would buy the entire U. S. Patent. You will please submit to me a proposition as to what you can pay in cash for the entire U. S. Patent and then I will write my partner in regard to same, and then I will answer you at once in regard to it. I am located at Amarillo, Texas, and my partner at Bellevue, Texas, a distance of 250 miles apart. It is useless for me to weary you with a long letter of commendation in regard to this Patent but suffice it to say that it is undoubtedly a good seller as it is applicable to all alike both high and low, rich and poor in every locality, and is not limited to any particular class or locality of persons, but is universal in its adaptability. You will please examine the enclosed copy of Patent critically and considerately, and let me hear from you at once. Yours respectfully. Address - - J.J. Click, Amarillo, Potter Co; Texas."
