Refugio.—Woman’s Club tnet
Wednesday afternoon in the city
club room, with the president, Mrs.
R. L. Rymal, presiding.
By a unanimous vote of the club,
the following were welcomed as
new members, Mrs. R. B. Davis,
Mrs. Jack Slack, Mrs. O. L. Fonte-
not, and Mrs. R. J. Tonkin.
Mrs. L. R. Goodman was pro-
gram leader, the topic for the af-
ternoon being, “World Affairs
Through Press and Radio.”
Mrs. Carter Snooks spoke on the
part the press plays in helping us
to become more enlightened on
world affairs and warned against
accepting everything we read as a
fact without some thought on our
part. Mrs. A. E. Nelson told how
we may become better educated in
world affairs through the radio,
pointing out a number of programs
and commentators. Mrs. Nelson
challenged club members to be on

some printed booklets caled
“The Book of Presidents”. This
booklet has some very interesting
information on our past Presidents
and also on our four candidates to
be voted on in November elec-
tion.
This bit of information is spon-
sored by Chamber of Commerce as
community project and we urge
all voters to get one of these book-
lets and read it before going to
the polls to vote in November.
We are trying to give a booklet
to everyone by placing them in the
churches as well as with all civic
organizations in town.
If you do not get one please call
by the Chamber of Commerce of-
fice and we will be more than glad
to give you any number you might
need for family and friends.
Remember to vote is a privilege
that many countries don’t give their
people, therefore, let’s keep that
fact in mind and remember No-
vember the 4th.
