Text at bottom of page 17: "Any extra space at the end of the car must be taken up by constructing a bulkhead, whereas extra space at the side of the car may be filled by placing the last row in a diagonal position, as shown started in figure 25. This row is often referred to as "the worm." Baskets should never be loaded crosswise of the car except as shown in figure 23, A and B.
All uneven places on the car floor should be leveled before the car is loaded."

T. V. Munson Collection

Thomas Volney Munson (September 26, 1853 - January 21, 1913), a renowned grape horticulturist is most well known for his contributions to the field of horticulture and rootstock development. His grape research and collection of native Texas rootstock were the impetus in saving the French wine industry. The French government bestowed on Munson, the Chevalier du Merite Agricole (The French Legion of Honor) for his contribution in saving the French wine industry.
