Notes

Item Text: "Dear Mrs. and Mr. Kempner, I thank you very much for your last letter. I was very happy to know you all in good health, and also my dear Nickle, I shall be very good to see him soon. Excuse me for the long silence but I was ill last month but thanks to God, I am all right now. I am looking forward to see you again in August and shall be very happy to see you all at your arrival. I am beginning to count the days until you will be here. Now, Dear Mr. Kempner, I explain you all concerning my papers. I have the Latvian Nationality, but my passport from Latvia has remained at the Prefecture. The Prefecture has given me a passport for […] called “Titre de Voyage” with which I can travel in any state. I have asked my visa last year in August and I am waiting for it every day, I have received my Notification of Registration. If I have not received my visa before you leave, that could be arranged here, in Paris, very quickly if it is to go with friends, I will have no difficulties to obtain the visa. I know friends who have made and they are now staying in America. Now I leave everything in the Power of Our Lord Jesus Christ. He has always helped me and will now do everything for the best. All my trust is in our God and what He does, that is the best for us. I feel in my heart that I will be with you soon. My friend, the chauffeur is already in America, in New York, with our Embassy. I was at the Plaza Athenie 3 weeks ago and there I saw a chauffeur who knows me and who has received letters from you. He is good-looking and speaks English very well. I saw also the little red-head, I don’t remember his name, but you know him, he liked very well Nickle. He would like to be with you again. I leave you now, I hope […] have something from you before the trip, otherwise I will be waiting for you on August the 17th. Yours sincerely, Helene."
