He then talks highly on General Grant being the best general he's ever worked for. As well as trusting the man, even enough to following him further into battle. He met a few old acquaintances but they're all unwell.

As a donation to the McWhiney History Education Group, formerly known as the Grady McWhiney Research Foundation, the Silas Trowbridge Collection is housed at the McMurry University Jay-Rollins Library in Abilene, Texas. Born in Fayette County, Indiana, in 1836, Major Silas Trowbridge was a surgeon in the 3rd Division, 17th U. S Army Corps during the Civil War.
