AFFLECK'S SOUTHERN RURAL ALMANAC.
A handsome little volume of useful and interesting hints on rural afair8 in the ~blut, is issued
annually, about the first of October. Price, ten cents each. Copies sent by mail, and prepaid,
on receipt of twelve cents in postage stamps. Price to dealers and country merchants, $5 per
hundred, with liberal privileges of advertising their business. As an advertising medium, this is
the best in the South. Orders and advertisements solicited. The number for 1860 includes a
large edition got up specially for Texas.
Affleck's Cotton-Plantation Record and Account-Books.
New edition now ready. No. 1, for forty hands or less, $2.50; No. 2, for eighty hands or less,
$8; No. 8. for one hundred and twenty hands or less, $8.S0; No. 4. for one hundred and sixty
hands or less, $4
Affleck's Sugar-Plantation Record and Account-Books.
No. 1, for eighty hands or less, $3; No. 2, for one hundred and twenty hands or less, $8.50.
" These books are now in general use among Planters. They consist of folio-books, of
go:d paper, well bound; comprising blank forms, ruled and headed, for every incident and
transaction occurring upon the plantation, so complete, and arranged in so clear and simple a
form, as that any one who writes a legible hand, though without any knowledge of accounts)
may keep them correctly, and even strike such a balance at the close of the year as will show
whether the year's cropping has been profitable or liot. They will be sent by mail, prepaid and
carefully enveloped, at the above prices.
Affleck's Overseers' Weekly Report.
A blank form, occupying the first page of a sheet of good letter paper, including all of which
an absentee or resident planter usually wishes to be informed once a week by his overseer; such
as state of the weather, condition of crops, health, etc., of negroes, kind and amount of work
done, cotton picked, bales pressed, bales sent off, etc. Price, per quire of 24 sheets, $1. Orders

Descriptive and priced Catalogues of the Fruit and Ornamental Trees and Plants, at both
Nurseries, will be forwarded, on application, to those who inclose a stamp to pay postage.
It is decidedly to the interest of purchasers to send in their orders as early as practicable.
Trees and Plants can usually be sent off, with safety, after the first of November.
