State's attorney and the Dallas County District Attorney provided a detailed description and timeline of all the steps Ruby's defense lawyers (particularly Phil Burleson) had taken in what they perceived to be efforts to delay the appeal process after the March 1964 return of a guilty verdict in Ruby's murder trial.
