Notes

Text at start of book: "Dear old book - I gave this Album to Papa when I had a surprise Birthday Party for him. I wish I knew which birth day it was, we had our own pictures taken in the after noon and while we were gone the people gathered and he certainly was surprised. Another Brown kept telling us to go and get our pictures taken before we got old and ugly. We had the guests to come late afternoon. I think it must have been Six or more years after we were married - June 18, 1876. If it is as long before I turn your pages again as it has been this time, I may not get to it again - but I don't believe you will stand many more ^ thumbings and turnings every thing wears out after a course of time, so the thot [sic] of humans should be where will we spend Eternity, all plans are made for us to spend a Glorious hereafter if we will except the terms, and our Bible tells us all about it. M J. Brown, Jan. 26, 1941."

Historical note from accompanying innformation: Mary Jane Allen married Frank Brown in 1876. They founded the quaker colony of Friendswood, Texas.
