Description from donor: "The giant green chair at Datcu Stadium, the home of the University of North Texas Mean Green football team, is one of the largest and most iconic college football stadium props. The chair is 20 feet tall, weighing over 15,000 pounds. It is made of steel and fiberglass, and it is painted green to match the Mean Green's team colors. The students consider the chair to serve as a symbol of the Mean Green's tradition, spirit, and community commitment for excellence. The chairs significance is represented as central gathering place on game days to rally students during the University fight song "Hail to the Green" before each football game. In 2023, the UNT stadium chair is strong and vibrant while people continue to feel a sense of belonging and camaraderie."
