The exhibit features pieces from the Texas Fashion Collection's permanent holdings alongside contemporary designs selected by a juried panel arranged by the Milliners Guild. Notes

1966 hat of laminated paper by Dallas-based milliner Sue Dooley. Exhibition text read: Dallas-based milliner Sue Dooley explored novel materials during her career in the mid-twentieth century. This unique open-crown, split-brim design employs plastic-coated paper to form its bold shape and flower trims. Framed as an inexpensive, industrial material, this paper textile signaled a modern, youth-oriented approach to fashion and accessories. That creative mindset was shared by other designers who crafted paper fashions in the late 1960s, with garments ranging from disposable bikinis to the highly collectible “Souper Dress” featuring Andy Warhol-esque Campbell’s Soup Cans.
