Notes

Description from donor about collection: "I started graduate school in January 2020. I was signed up for the online program from the beginning and I preferred studying at the public library or the Starbucks near my home. However, when the pandemic shut-down happened I found myself "stuck" in the house where my wife was also working. We felt lucky to have extra time together, but looked forward to a time when we could travel safely again. When the Spring 2021 semester ended, my wife and I took our first trip since the end of 2019. We were both fully vaccinated in April 2021 and flew to New York. The city was devoid of the usual tourists and the subway, even during "rush hour", felt nearly empty. We dined indoors for the first time since March of 2020 and ventured to Coney Island."

Description from donor about image: "NYC subway poster reminding riders to wear a mask and stop the spread of COVID-19. Taken on May 6, 2021."
