Notes
A message from the donor: In 1963 I recorded the oral history of my paternal grandmother (long before oral history recordings were more popular), who immigrated from Alabama to Texas in 1895. I still have the original "interview" on CD (audio only), and this transcription (see attached PDF) of her monologue (along with footnotes and photos added for more interest, by me, who knew her well until her death in 1968).
