Transcript of script: "ON THIS DATE-- IN 1587, MARY, QUEEN OF SCOTS, WAS BEHEADED BY ORDER OF QUEEN ELIZABETH THE FIRST OF ENGLAND. IN 1690, MOHAWK INDIANS AND FRENCH TROOPS ATTACKED SCHENECTADY, NEW YORK. IN 1861, ARKANSAS TROOPS SEIZED THE U-S ARSENAL AT LITTLE ROCK AS SOUTHERN STATES WERE REBELLING AGAINST THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. IN 1910, THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA WAS FORMED. IN 1940, DURING WORLD WAR TWO, EVERY TENTH PERSON WAS SHOT IN TWO VILLAGES NEAR WARSAW, POLAND IN REPRISAL FOR THE DEATHS OF TWO GERMAN SOLDIERS. IN 1955, SOVIET PREMIER GEORGY MALENKOV RESIGNED AND WAS SUCCEEDED BY MARSHAL NIKOLAI BULGANIN. THEN YEARS AGO....THE UNITED STATES APPROVED AN INDONESIAN REQUEST FOR MILITARY EQUIPMENT TO OUTFIT 20 ARMY BATTALIONS. FIVE YEARS AGO.....A GOVERNMENT CRISIS IN THE NETHERLANDS WAS SOLVED AS PRINCESS IRENE RENOUNCED RIGHTS TO THE THRONE SO SHE COULD MARY PRINCE CARLOS HUGO OF BOURBON-PALMA. ONE YEAR AGO.....DEMOCRATIC SENATOR ROBERT KENNEDY OF NEW YORK SAID IN A SPEECH THE UNITED STATES COULD NOT WIN THE WAR IN VIETNAM.
