Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Darwin Crain. Crain joined the Navy in November of 1942. Beginning in the fall of 1943, he served as Fireman aboard USS Virgo (AKA-20). They traveled to Wellington, New Zealand and picked up various Marine units, transporting them to Tarawa, the Gilbert Islands, Kwajalein, the Marshall Islands, Guadalcanal, New Guinea and Leyte.
