Wish I’d Said

“So what if you’re forty and
have lived half your life. Look
on the bright side. If you were
a horse, you’d already be dead
15 years.”—Ardis M. Bloom,
The Stanley (Wise.) Repub-
lican.
<D« Bible
Flesh and blood has not re-
vealed this to you.— (Matt.
16:17)
Let us think about ourselves
in the light of Truth. Let us
make large claims for our-
selves as spiritual beings.
FLIP OF COIN DECIDES
$1,033,000 CONTRACT
At a meeting of Los Angeles
County supervisors, a silver dol-
lar was flipped into the air—and
R. G. Gillespie, vice president of
the W. E. Lyons Company, shout-
ed “heads.” The coin came up
heads, and Gillespie’s firm won
a $1,033,000 library contract.
The flip of the coin came when
the Lyons company and R. J.
Daum Construction Company
submitted identical bids for the
library contract.
The Lonely Heart
SKIERS WAIT IN WARM AREA
Skiers waiting in line to ride
the aerial tram to the top of
the slopes at the ski area at
Jackson Hole, Wyo., are just
as warm as though a bright sun
was shining down on them.
The reason — eight infrared
panels which reflect heat. The
ski area had the panels installed
at a cost of more than $1,000
to make the waiting in cold snow
more comfortable for its cus-
tomers.
FLAVOR BOOSTER
You can make delicious crou-
tons to add to a tossed green
salad by frying the cut-up bread
in olive oil; use a tablespoon of
oil for each slice of bread. Cut
the bread into neat small
squares.
r WALDORF SALAD
% A Waldorf salad combination
" of apple, celery and walnuts may
;. be folded into lemon-flavored
gelatin to be served as salad.
