Mesdames 8. A. Morrison, Fits

from three to five, at the home of
Mra. Hlllin, honoring Mr*. John K.
Mann, a recent bride.
Tho rooms were attractively dec-
orated with vases and baskets of
yellow and orchid chrysanthemums.
Artificial light was used, giving a
true autumn atmosphere.
As the gueBt* arrived, they regis-
tered and wrote their favorite reelpo
in the bride's book. After the guests
had assembled, the honoree, very
unsuspecting, was. persuaded by Mrs.
HUlin io go home with her for a
gift. On their arrival, they found
the home full of guests. Mrs. Mann
wax given the seat of honor, and
was told that a special program waa
about to be broadcast In her honor.
The radio waa turned on, and the
announcer, Mrs. Kabot Ilaker, gave
the weather forecast, which was
probable showers for East Texas.
This announcement waa followed by
a shower of lovely gifts from a
parasol on the bride. She opened
euch one and graciously thanked
the donor.
Following the shower a very uni-

Kabot Raker.
Several appropriate raidings wero
given by Mrs. Baker, and two con-
tents, "His Old Sweethearts,’’ und

Victory over Rk-e last Saturday
placed the T. C. U. Homed FYogs
within <0 minutes of the 1933 South-
west Conference football champion-
ship, but it was a very costly
game. Ben Boswell, potential AU-
Southwest conference tackle, sus-
tained n minor fracture of the ver-
tebra, and will not be able to play
Saturday. Richard (Red) Oliver,
leading conference scorer, received
a fractured jaw, and it was thought
the first of the week he was out for
the rest of the season, but he sayB
he will play anyhow If needed.
Thkee other players, Pruitt, Lang-
don and Townsend received injuries
In the Rice game, but it looks now
as if all three will be in shape by
Saturday.
This season the Mustangs are
definitely out of the picture, but
they’ve laid plans to thwart the

championship. If the Mustangs are
successful and surprise with an up-

into a tie with Texas; that is, pro-
