An eight-member, so-called "shut-down" team from
the Health-Education and Welfare Department
apparently mis-cued today, when they came to Fort
Worth's national Mental Health Research Center to
announce its closing. Their mission came under the
scrutiny of Texas Senator Ralph Yarborough, chair-
man of the Senate Committee on Labor and
Welfare, which controls purse-
strings.
SHOOTING POOL
He put the delegation behind ight-ball when
he called their boss, H-E-W secretary Robert
Finch to demand an explanation. Senator Yarborough
has scheduled hearings for April 17th and 18th onthe center's closing. Secretary
