dw COUNCIL
Fort Worth's City Council, in an informal pre-session,
discusses a proposed ordinance which would require
grocers to label bulk food packages with price-per-
pound, total weight and total price. City Sanitary
Engineer Roy Adams says the ordinance is needed. He
claims customers in some stores have been cheated
because of the lack of clear price marking.
City Manager McMahan also supports the ordinance, and
it later is formally approved in regular session.CAMERAS ND FLAG
Today, too, the city council adopts an official flag.
The design by commercial artist Richard Pruitt is
presented by Fort Worth Art Commission Chairman
Whitfield Collins. Collins says this is the best of
153 entries in thh contest sponsored by the commission.
It has three broad bands of blue, white and green...
and a black Longhorn steer is superimposed on the
white, depicting --of course--Fort Worth's cowtown
tradition.1:40
