He was sent to diesel school and then to the Pacific to serve with the 1st Marine Air Wing. Shirley traveled with his radar until to an island off Okinawa to detect incoming aircraft. Description: Video of a panel on LGBT Issues Involving People of Color. Dr. John Allen introduces the event and speakers for the event held in Willis Library.
