Description: Photograph of the Denton County jail built in 1891 and is located at 406 North Elm. This was Denton's fourth jail. The brick used in the construction was made by R. B. Harris at the old bushey brick plant southeast of Denton. The windows of the two-story brick building are barred.

Description: Dr. H. H. Milling was the first of Mineral Wells' "rubbin' doctors." He operated the Mineral Wells Sanatorium at 315 NW 1st Avenue before building this sanitarium in the 2500 block of SE 6th Avenue - the old Millsap Highway) about 1929. The building was later sold and renamed Irvine Sanitarium. [Blind Nellie]

Description: Blind Nellie was brought to Mineral Wells by a cowboy, who sold her at auction for a dollar and a half. She eventually came into the possession of Colonel W.R. Austin, who used her to turn the wheel of the pump at the Austin Well. The horse became a tourist attraction in that capacity. When she was retired, she continued to walk in circles in her pasture. ["The Meteor"]

Description: St. Louis and San Francisco Railway's oldest name train "The Meteor" operating between Chicago, St. Louis, Springfield, Sapulpa, Denison, Sherman, Fort Worth and Dallas - a rail distance of 976 miles. This famous train made its first run on March 17, 1902. Even in this early era "The Meteor" was one of the nation's de Lux long-distance passenger trains. Its dining car service was comparable to that on the Santa Fe, being under the supervision of Fred Harvey.

Description: A letter written Mr. Soloman Falls of Paris, Texas informing him of his son's (Jett -- Johnny, Jetty --- Falls) insurance benefits upon his death. The letter was issued by the Treasury Department on May 3rd, 1920 and details the amount paid by Mr. Soloman towards Jett Falls War Risk Insurance, and the amount owed to him upon his son's death.
