[Tasting the molasses]

Description: Photograph of a large group of young men and women gathered around a large metal vat as sweet sorghum juice is boiled down to make sorghum molasses. Two older women use homemade ladles to stir and strain out imperfections. Many of the youths use small, whittled, pieces of sorghum cane as sop sticks to dip and taste the molasses.

Description: Photograph of a group of Mexican revolutionaries posing for a photograph. All the rebels but one, a man lying on the ground, are holding a rifle. The man on the ground is holding a sack and a utensil. Most of the rebels are holding their rifles as if ready to fire, but the man fourth from the left in the back row has his by his side. The group had the photo taken at their camp. Near the bottom right hand corner, remnants of a fire are visible, along with plates, cups, and a large bowl.
