Description: Photograph of the front entrance of the Carnegie Library on the Wiley College Campus, Marshall, Texas, after a grant was obtained from the Carnegie Foundation in 1907. It is a two-story brick building with Ionic columns on either side of the doorway and classical-style architecture. There are trees and shrubberies planted around the building.

He is standing in front of a photographer's backdrop showing a curtain and elaborate fireplace and one of his hands rests on the upholstered arm of a settee. He is wearing a military style jacket. The photographer's imprint on the bottom of the card is P. F. Goben, 317 East Mulberry St., Sherman, Tex. The inscription on the back indicates that it was taken while he was a student at Austin College in the 1880s.
