[Os-Aple Jubilee Week Parade]

Description: The 'Os-Aple' jubilee was the 1912 celebration marking 60 years of existence for the City named 'El Paso'. El Paso was originally settled and named as the Franklin Settlement in 1849. The Franklin Settlement was later renamed to 'El Paso' in 1852; hence the 1912 jubilee celebration for the City of El Paso, Texas. Description: The 'Preparedness Parade' symbolized a patriotic movement within the El Paso community that showed local support for World Peace by supporting the United States' entry into World War I. Standard Park [and Amusement Park]

Description: A Trolley went by Standard Park and Standard Pavilion before 1913. A popular place,the Standard had a swimming pool, amphitheater, dancing and playgrounds. The North Oak Community is now at this location. Information was taken from A.F Weaver's "Time Was" second edition.
