[Daughters of the Confederacy]

Description: This picture was made at a state convention of the Texas Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy at Corsicana Texas, 1900. The flag in the process of being folded is of unknown origin. It was returned from New Orleans with the effects of Col. William Lull and was supposed, from its single star, to have belonged to Texas. It's description: Gray field, red star, gray and blue stripes, heavy red fringe entirely surrounding it.

Description: Portrait of Sgt. George V. Huffmon, of the U.S. Army Medical Corps in uniform. On his uniform is a braid which signified he was in the Infantry and the serpent, the Medical Corps. Written on the back is the notation, "Havana, Cuba, Nov. 2, 1906. George V. Huffmon, Co. B, Hospital Corps, USA; Camp Columbia, Havana, Cuba. A bad picture." Description: Postcard of three male soldiers in front of a wooden barrack. There is one double-hung window behind them with a small overhang on top. The men are all wearing identical uniforms which consist of button-up jackets with multiple button-flap pockets, hats, and bulging pants that are tucked inside tall boots. A hand-written notation on the back of the postcard identifies the man on the right as John Petersen.
