[Jail Register, Cooke County, 1897-1910]

Description: Ledger from Cooke County, Texas containing a record of prisoners confined in the county jail. Recorded information includes names, age, physical descriptions, dates of confinement, fines, offenses, and names of jailer. The ledger also contains a letter from Cook County Judge J. M. Wright, dated June 21, 1904, regarding his decision in the case of the State of Texas v. [Benye Bawden]. See entry 42 on page 98 of this ledger for more information on the defendant.

[Letter from J. S. Rucker, May 29, 1895]

Description: He mentions Henry's state and that the doctor came to see him. He doesn't want to comment on Uncle Abe getting married. Buckley divided his property and money to his children. He talks about the weather and Charles planting. He mentions how good Henry's garden looks. He writes that Charley Hubbard is going to jail. John and Jennie stayed the night at his house and had dinner at C. B.'s. John and Sam also visited.

Lattice.

Description: Patent for a simple, strong, and economic lattice that is meant for use in jail cells. It allows air and light into the cell, and they are formed with "alternately opposite depressions and elevations for the reception of the bars running at right angles thereto" (lines 12-24). It should have alternating bars of steel and iron.
