[Wagon Yard and Jail]

Description: Photograph of O.K. Wagon Yard and Paducah's first jail. The note on the back of the photograph reads, "First jail and the OK wagon yard; sat on N.E. corner square. The jail was built in 1894 from rock brought from “Talkin’ John” Creek. The building and the jail furnished an income for workmen during the drought years that followed the organization of the county in 1892. The ruins of the old jail went into the foundation of our present-day Veterans Building."
