Description: Photograph of parents and children at the first school in Midland, possibly around 1886. The building, a lumber house with a front porch located on N. Big Spring Street near Illinois Avenue, was rebuilt in 1887. Several names are listed on the back of the picture: Clarence Scharbauer, Mary McEntire Vest (Mollie), Doc K. Vase (on the roof), Billy White, Arminta Draper Ellis, Grandpa Jasper Vest, Nancy K. Vest, M. Newton, and Dr. Ellis.
