United States Pavilion and Migration Fountain

Description: Photograph of a portion of the U.S. pavilion at HemisFair '68. Outside of the pavilion is the Migration Fountain, with a 100 foot wide cascade of water. The fountain decoration includes sculptures of stylized birds attached to metal rods. Created by Bill Bristow, artist and Trinity University Art Professor.

Los Voladores De Pazeantla- flying Indians from Mexico

Description: In this photograph, Indians dressed in traditional clothing are standing at the set up ceremony for the ancient dramatic ritual dance from Veracruz, Mexico. Each man representing the five elements of the indigenous world climb to the top of a pole, one of them stays, playing a flute and dancing while 4 other men descend the pole with a rope tied by one of their feet. Los Voladores De Pazeantla- flying Indians from Mexico

Description: Photograph of one of Los Voladores de Papantla (the Flying Indians of Papantla) who performed ancient dramatic rituals at HemisFair '68. One of five performers danced atop a 114-foot pole on a 20 inch disk; then, four flyers leaped and spiraled downward with ropes secured to their waists to make 32 turns around the pole.
