Collins begins by telling of his experiences in Vietnam, and answering questions concerning aspects of his time overseas. Later in the interview he tells of his family history beginning as captured slaves in Kenya and their servitude in Georgia ultimately ending up in Louisiana after their freedom was granted.

A Certificate of Patriotism given to Allan John Husch by the Sons of the American Revolution. The certificate reads, "Allan John Husch is a member of the Vietnam War Veterans Corps and is honored with this Certificate of Patriotism for standing ready to defend the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. As a Veteran, he is authorized by the SAR to wear the War Service Medal with Vietnam Bar in grateful recognition for his service to country during the Vietnam War."
