The History of Elmhurst Park Housing Project

Elmhurst Park, on Pollard Creek about one mile-and-a-half of the southwest corner of Oak and Hubbard streets, closed when the trolley from the city to the Park ceased operations in 1913. A close-up photograph of the Italian marble angel statue in Memorial Park which honors the Texas City firefighters killed in the 1947 Texas City Disaster.
