Two individuals can be seen walking on the sidewalk next to the street. This building served as the university's library until 1971, shortly after the A.M. Willis Library was built. It was renamed the Information Science Building in 1971/1972 and then later renamed as Sycamore Hall in 2011.

[Book Donation to the Denton City/County Public Library]

Description: Mary Lou Burford from Girl Scout Troop 15 gives books to Emily Fowler and the Denton City/County Public Library, that has been furnished by the Girl Scout Council. They are standing at the front service desk. Emily Fowler served as librarian of the public library from 1943 until January 1, 1969, and as librarian emeritus until her retirement on October 15, 1969.

Charles O. Austin Memorial Library (First Public Library)

Description: Photograph of first public library in Cleveland built by Mrs. Bessie Austin as memorial to her late husband called the Charles O. Austin Memorial Library. It was about 1/2 block from the grammar school. Students would walk single file to check out books. Three sides of the library were shelves of books. The only other item was a small desk and chair where the librarian worked. As of November 3, 2023, building razed due to termite damage and general deterioration.
