[The Crazy Hotel Pavilion]

Description: A handwritten note on the back of the picture identifies this as "Crazy Hotel Pavilion 1940 Cigar Stand and Shine Stand." Please notice Leon Cross, the "Shoe-shine boy", who operated the stand for years, in the white shirt to the left of the Shine Stand. [Letter from Meyer Bodansky to Theodore L. Terry - November 4, 1940]

Description: Letter to Dr. Theodore L. Terry, dated November 4, 1940. The letter, which is from an unknown sender, explains to Dr. Terry that he was not reimbursed for a phone call that he made at a hotel while visiting with the sender. The sender informs Dr. Terry that he has included with the letter money to cover the call, and thanks him for a joyful visit. The right-hand side of the letter has several tears in it.
