[Preparedness Parade - June 1916]

Description: The 'Preparedness Parade' symbolized a patriotic movement within the El Paso community that showed local support for World Peace by supporting the United States' entry into World War I. Ergo, the El Paso community was ready to assist with the war effort. The preparedness movement was a national patriotic movement and was not exclusive to El Paso. [Massachusetts Infantry Band]

Description: Photograph of the Massachusetts infantry and band from Boston, Massachusetts which was taken at Camp Cotton. In this image large number of men in uniform are standing in rows with instruments, including a bass drum with the title of the band. A crowd of people is watching the band in the background. Accompanying information identifies the group both as the Massachusetts National Guard and the Fifth Massachusetts Infantry.
