The customs house was located on the U.S. side of the International Bridge, the gateway to and from Mexico. The majority of the soldiers are sitting down with only a few standing. Description: Postcard image of a Mexican Troop Train. Several dozen Mexican Troops can be seen in this picture. The troops on the ground are waiting for something. Description: Photograph of soldiers resting along the line of march. The photograph was taken in the area of modern day central El Paso, Texas. There are at least two hundred rifles visible in the photograph; one soldier guards all of the rifles. Many soldiers have taken refuge under the shaded eves of the homes. [The Dancing Pavilion at Elmhurst Park]

Description: Spectators are shown here, at a spring play-day frolic at Elmhurst Park around 1910. The popular park once boasted a Casino, a Dancing Pavilion, Exhibit Halls, and Outdoor Sports Fields. It hosted the County Fair and sports events until 1913. On the closure of Elmhurst Park, the City of Mineral Wells became the owner of the property. Musicians in the Union Bower Community

Description: This group of musicians played for square dances in the Union Bower community. Dances were held in the fall and winter because the weather was too hot during the summer. Left to right are: Tom Owens, Earl Steele, Lillie Owens, and Tom Wright. Lloyd Smith called the square dances, but is not in the picture. Union Bower was a farming community on the eastern edge of the city of Irving. The community was established about 1880.
