The Frazier Home

Description: The Frazier Home on 44. E. Sycamore, just near the Alliance Mill. Built in approximately 1892, the house was a two-story frame house. William and Fannie A. Frazier are standing on the front porch. According to an article in the September 1, 1892, of the Denton County News, Mr. Frazier had just built the house and noted that he was the (locomotive) engineer on the "Dallas & Henrietta".

Description: Photograph of young girls of varying ages who are on a porch. Foremost, a girl named Ethel is wearing a floral bonnet and dress sits in a tricycle. Behind her, a girl named May wears a dark striped dress and has her hair tied with ribbon. Two girls, Susette and Lucile, sit on a chair behind the other girls. A partially shuttered window is in the left side of the picture as well.

[Home in South Midland]

Description: Photograph of homes on the southern side of Midland in 1892. The home at right, one-story and gable-roofed with a windmill, sits on the corner of Kentucky Avenue and Baird Street, and was the early home of J. H. Mims. The house at left, mostly identical to Mims', was the early home of Fred Cowden. Bare grassland surrounds the homes.
